Stray Kids officially debuted on March 26, 2018, with their first mini album “I am NOT” and its title track “District 9.”

The nine-member group — Bang Chan, Woojin, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N — entered the music scene with high expectations both in Korea and internationally, presenting themselves as a group with limitless growth potential.

The members first gained attention through the 2017 reality program “Stray Kids,” where they actively participated not only in songwriting but also in producing, concept development, and performance, leaving a strong impression on viewers.

Ahead of their official debut, Stray Kids released their pre-debut album “Mixtape” in January, which reached No.1 on iTunes album charts in multiple countries including Finland, Norway, Sweden, and the Philippines. They were also ranked No.1 on Billboard’s “Top 5 New K-Pop Artists to Watch in 2018,” further highlighting their global potential.

With “I am NOT,” the group filled all 8 tracks with self-produced songs, expressing their ambition and artistic direction. The album title reflects a starting point of self-awareness — declaring “I am NOT” — and marks the beginning of their journey in defining their musical identity.

The title track “District 9” represents Stray Kids’ own unique space — a place where they break free from standardized systems and create their own path. 2018년 가요계 최고의 기대주 Stray Kids(스트레이 키즈)가 3월 26일 데뷔 앨범 'I am NOT'과 타이틀곡 'District 9'을 발표하고 정식 데뷔한다.
방찬(Bang Chan), 우진(Woojin), 리노(Lee Know), 창빈(Changbin), 현진(Hyunjin), 한(HAN), 필릭스(Felix), 승민(Seungmin), 아이엔(I.N) 9명의 멤버들이 하나의 유기체가 되어 무한 성장형 그룹을 지향하는 Stray Kids가 국내외 음악팬들의 높은 기대 속에 첫 발걸음을 내딛는다.

2017년 10월 JYP엔터테인먼트와 Mnet이 만나 선보였던 리얼리티 프로그램 '스트레이 키즈'에서 멤버들은 곡 작업뿐만 아니라 프로듀싱, 콘셉트, 퍼포먼스 등 다방면에 직접 참여하는 모습으로 강렬한 눈도장을 찍었다.

Stray Kids는 올해 1월 정식 데뷔에 앞서 발매한 프리 데뷔 앨범 'Mixtape'로 핀란드, 노르웨이, 스웨덴, 필리핀 등 4개국 아이튠즈 앨범 차트 1위에 올라 뜨거운 해외 관심을 입증했다. 또 미국 빌보드가 꼽은 '2018년 주목할 K팝 아티스트 TOP5(Top 5 New K-Pop Artists to Watch in 2018)' 중 1위로 선정돼 올해 최고 신인으로 주목을 받았다.

1번 트랙 'NOT!'은 이번 데뷔 앨범 'I am NOT'의 주제를 담은 힙합 곡으로 사이버펑크적 느낌을 풍기는 사운드 디자인과 트랩이 만났다.

3번 트랙 'Mirror'는 자아 정체성을 고민하며 '나는 누구인지' 자신의 정신을 비추어 본다는 내용으로 전개된다. 변화무쌍한 래핑과 다양한 보컬이 조화를 이뤘다.

4번 트랙 'Awaken'은 록 사운드를 기반으로 '자신의 틀을 깨야 한다'는 의지를 강하게 표현했다. 'I am NOT'이라는 자각을 시작으로 자전적 이야기를 외치는 곡이다.

5번 트랙 'ROCK (돌)'은 정체성의 혼란 속에 답답한 나머지 '차라리 돌이 되고 싶다'라는 내용의 재치있는 가사가 특징이다. 언어적 유희와 힘찬 사운드가 조화를 이뤘다.
