FTISLAND, who have overcome many difficulties, released their 10th original album in Japan to commemorate the 15th anniversary of their major label debut. It is a piece of work that carries the weight of the years that have gone by and the unchanging impulses that still remain. The title of the album, "Instinct," is a fusion of the band's return to their origins of "sounding the sound as their hearts move, not as logic dictates," and their ever-evolving impulses. The lead song "MONOCHROME" is an ongoing rock number in which the band sings as if praying for the strength to carry themselves in a colorless world. The album also includes their most recently released single, "F-R-I-E-N-DS," a warm medium ballad that depicts a friendship of mutual support despite differences, and "DOOR," a song that sounds their determination to step into the future with their new formation. In addition, six new unreleased songs, which can be said to be their new frontier, raise the precision of the album. From pop and melodic live anthems to loud rock tunes with a sense of speed, all the songs have been selected by FTISLAND's "instinct". Their voices, which capture the waves of emotion as they are, and their sound, which is a mixture of sophistication and passion, sharply and sometimes gently depict the "now" of the band. (C)RS
